Scavenger Hunt

A real-world hunt.
A live digital checklist.

Print and hide six QR cards. Bring your explorers into one room, start together, and see each discovery count.

The playable version is not published yet.

How to play

The room prototype is being tested. Seller templates and public play are still in development.

Find all six

  • Sun
  • Leaf
  • Moon
  • Flower
  • Star
  • Butterfly

One set of physical cards. A checklist on every device.

Set it up. Start together. Explore.

  1. Prepare the cards

The host creates a room, prints its six QR cards, and hides them in safe, reachable places.

  2. Gather the explorers

Open the invitation link or scan the join QR. Each device gets an explorer name. One device can represent one person or a team.

  3. Find every card

The host starts the hunt for everyone. Scan each card, or enter its printed code, to confirm a discovery. Leave cards in place for the next explorer.

One shared finish

Find all six cards to finish. Explorers whose final discoveries are confirmed within two seconds of the first share the win.

Repeated scans do not add points. Everyone can keep exploring until the host closes the room.

Plan for a connection

The room needs internet access to start, confirm discoveries, and determine the result. If the connection drops, scans wait on that device.

Waiting scans count when the server receives them. They cannot move a finish back in time or replace an earlier winner.

Before you start

The planned seller-to-buyer experience

A seller will upload card artwork and style the digital checklist. Wisherio will generate the QR codes and a printable card layout. The seller can offer the printed pack together with a link for the buyer to receive their own game.

The printed card codes will be reusable across buyers and sessions. Each buyer will open a separate room with its own invitation, discoveries, and results. This template and delivery workflow is planned; it is not part of the current prototype.

A host view and an explorer view

The host manages the room, shows the invitation QR, starts the hunt, and watches everyone's progress. Explorers use their own checklist and scanner.

The planned entry flow asks for camera access first, then a name or nickname before joining. If camera access is unavailable, printed card codes provide another way to play. This entry flow is being prepared for the next version.

What the current prototype includes

A fixed six-card set, shared rooms, a live host progress view, scanning, and return links for replacing a device. Rooms last 24 hours. The prototype's cards belong to one room; reusable seller packs, custom card sets, a theme editor, and the shared Wisherio account experience are still in development.

The first playtest is limited to approved adult testers. Please do not invite children or enter personal information during the playtest. Camera images are decoded on your device; game progress is stored temporarily on the server when the playable version is enabled.
